Fort Wola

Fort Wola
Mayland Real Estate Ltd. had been planning the reconstruction of the entire Fort Wola Gallery for the past 10 years.

Unfortunately, not everything always goes as planned. The shopping center was closed for several years, and then the pandemic period added to the delays. The bottom line is that nothing was done. In the meantime, there were several meetings and attempts to persuade Mayland to implement modernization and apply for a white certificate. The gallery was reopened in the spring of 2023, and only part of the underground garages was completed. Unfortunately, not with us.

After long negotiations, we were able to resume discussions, and our offer won the general contractor bid for the lighting replacement in the passages, halls, entrances, and technical backrooms. Thanks to the experts from the Professional Lighting Department, we managed to select the appropriate LED fixtures that replaced the existing lighting. Before the modernization, the client was using over 78 kW of power for lighting in the replaced areas, but after the upgrade, consumption dropped to 31 kW.

Of course, there were also challenges. Specifically, we faced difficulties with replacing fixtures along the escalator paths. The original fixtures were manufactured by a French company created to service the former GEANT networks and had very unusual dimensions. However, we managed to solve this as well. Together with the contractor, we used the old housings and installed our fixtures inside them. The goal was to ensure that the investor would not breach the terms of the insurance policy and fire safety regulations. And contrary to the prevailing rumors, there were no ghosts in this palace—we checked personally during the night work.

Lighting the Masterpiece – GRODNO Illuminates Poland’s Only Van Gogh

"Stories of One Painting" is a special exhibition dedicated to the only Vincent van Gogh painting in a Polish collection—an extraordinary work by the Dutch post-impressionist master.
Held at the John Paul II and Stefan Wyszyński Museum in Wilanów, the exhibition is both a cultural landmark and a technical challenge: how to present a world-renowned piece of art with the respect, care, and clarity it deserves.

That’s where GRODNO came in.
